What is Becker Education and Engagement Day (BEED)?
BEED began in 2023 when a group of individuals living with Becker, advocacy groups, clinicians, and researchers in Becker came together to design an opportunity for those in the Becker community to connect. The inaugural Becker Education and Engagement Day in 2023 gathered 150 individuals across four locations in the United States on December 2nd, 2023. The 2024 BEED Event was held at six locations on September 28th and brought over 350 community members together. The event was designed to foster a sense of community for people living with Becker and their families, by providing opportunities to hear from experts in Becker care and research, and most importantly, to meet others affected by the rare neuromuscular disorder.
